HERA Sweaters Limited, a well-established name in the garments and knitwear industry, is embarking on an exciting new chapter, one defined by fresh leadership, a renewed sense of purpose, and a deeply human-centred approach to doing business. The company has recently bid a warm and heartfelt farewell to its former Managing Director, Md. Mostaqur Rahman, whose steadfast dedication and years of service laid a solid foundation upon which HERA now builds. Taking the helm as the new Managing Director is Sarwar Ahmed, a figure widely respected for his extraordinary integrity and unwavering commitment to putting people first. Alongside him, the company welcomes Directors Samantha Rahman and Samantha Sarwar, both of whom bring fresh perspectives and a deeply empathetic vision to the organisation. Together, this dynamic leadership trio has already hit the ground running, with HERA's marketing and production operations having officially resumed since March 2026. In what has quickly become a defining moment for the new era at HERA, Managing Director Sarwar Ahmed made a point of personally visiting the finishing floor to speak candidly with the factory's workforce. His words resonated deeply with those present, and have since been widely spoken of with admiration: "I have joined the factory with an idea for the coming years, with all your efforts and hard work. If the factory runs profitably, we directors will not take any income, but rather re-invest in the development of the factory, as well as build an English medium school for our workers' children and also arrange funds for their tertiary education." The pledge drew an immediate and heartfelt response from the workforce, a clear sign that HERA's new leadership is not merely speaking of change, but actively choosing to live it. On the international front, Ms Sarwar, in her capacity as Marketing Director, has wasted no time in establishing HERA as a credible and competitive force in the global apparel sourcing landscape. Since assuming her role, she has attended multiple national and international RMG expos, actively representing the company and creating meaningful connections with buyers, sourcing agents, and industry stakeholders from across the world. Most notably, Ms Sarwar has made her mark at two of the industry's most prestigious platforms, Texworld Apparel Sourcing NYC and Fashion SVP London. Reflecting on one particularly promising encounter at Texworld NYC, she shared: "I met a sourcing agent whose brand was searching for a reliable green manufacturing partner. It was the perfect opportunity to introduce HERA and share our commitment to sustainable production, quality craftsmanship, and on-time delivery. Our Gold LEED-certified facility is more than just a green factory — it reflects our dedication to building lasting partnerships through consistency, transparency, and dependable execution." In addition, Ms Sarwar also actively leads the product development team and connects them with buyer requirements and global demands in readymade garment sector. Simultaneously, the contribution of Ms Rahman, who leads the factory's production, pricing, and costing operations, from the very outset of her appointment, she has adopted a thoroughly hands-on approach, regularly gathering production updates, identifying operational gaps, and translating data into clear, actionable decisions. She has already developed a comprehensive pricing model for the factory and is actively working to establish a robust planning structure to ensure a smooth and efficient production process. Adding further weight to her strategic vision, Ms Rahman has also put together a focused three-month development strategy plan, designed to strengthen HERA's operational foundation from the ground up. Addressing the management team with characteristic directness in a recent production meeting, she made her intentions unequivocally clear: "We will not only move forward with smart marketing but also with a structured production process. It is not a secret that this factory has many rooms for improvement, but first things first. We will need a strong planning, costing, and IE department that will maintain a constant reporting structure. A factory cannot move forward in the long run without improving its financial standing; hence, we must look into our pricing strategy. Working like we are doing now, this factory will have a changed and positive future in the coming 6 months." With a leadership team that combines commercial ambition with genuine compassion, HERA Sweaters Limited appears well-positioned to write one of the more compelling turnaround stories in Bangladesh's ready-made garments sector.
